Our core values
We are a Members Only, Not-For-Profit flying club whose aim is to provide affordable flying for everyone.
Safety is our primary objective, and to that end we have a dedicated safety manager.
Our Instructors are all friendly and experienced, and our CFI is also an Examiner.
Be it the written exams for the PPL, the IR(R) or the practical radio-telephony exam we have the team to help you.
Our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards; all work done by or supervised by CAA certified aircraft engineers.
We arrange occasional members evenings and encourage participation in organised ‘Fly-Ins’ and Charity events.
Azure Flying Club is a privately run not for profit club, formerly known as The Britannia Airways / Thompson Airways Flying Club. We are based at Cranfield Airport (EGTC) situated on the grounds of Cranfield University.
Within the club we have three PA28s, one AA5 which all are four seaters and a club room to brief and debrief and relax before and after each flight. Cranfield Airport is renowned for flight training, the airfield is equipped with the best facilities for training including:
- 1800m long well maintained runway
- Full Instruments Landing (ILS, DME, ADF & GNS approaches).
- Airport security
We are proud to offer affordable safe flying offering our members good value solo hire rates and our students the same. We have a professional team of instructors who can help you gain your Private Pilots Licence (PPL or LAPL, Night & IR/R)
